Domestic Operations Specialist Job Location:
Portland, Texas DHL Global Forwarding manages the flow of goods and information across a customer's global supply chain utilizing air/ocean/ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers.
We are part of Deutsche Post DHL, the world's leading logistics provider with operations in over 220 countries.
Summary:
EUV arranges the movement of exclusive use vehicles utilizing a variety of carriers, including asset based and brokers.
Customer base includes internal customers both US and Globally and direct dealing with external customers.
Serve as competency center for these types of moves within the US and certain MX points, as well as all pricing for RFQ's that have a full truckload component.
Tasks and
Responsibilities:
Develop quotes for internal and external customers for exclusive use moves using a variety of methods Provide customer service having direct interface with internal and externals customers Answer phones and assist callers Respond timely to email requests Obtain quotes from carrier base, utilizing the appropriate carrier base to match the service requirements.
Track and trace loads at required intervals, updating the Shared Drive to ensure it is update and accurate.
Assist on mult-lane RFQ's as required.
Keep the entire team updated on issues that need turnover and follow up.
Provide feedback on vendor performance Handle AP for vendors All document management Workflow AR and AP Skills &
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or equivalent Strong Data Entry and Excel skills Strong communication and negotiation skills Ability to multi task Analyze and resolve complex cross functional issues Solid organization, customer service and computer skills 2
years experience in the transportation industry preferred Ability to work well within a small team environment Make independent decisions without supervision the final hours of the shift DHL Global Forwarding is an equal opportunity employer.
